(Yahoo! News) — Ten years ago, on May 31, 2003, a rookie police officer named Jeffrey S. Postell was working the overnight shift in Murphy, North Carolina, when he caught¬†Eric Robert Rudolph, one of the FBI’s Most Wanted fugitives. It was a compelling and unlikely story. In the dense mountains of western North Carolina, Rudolph had eluded hundreds of law enforcement officers and skilled trackers for five years. The¬†cost of the search was estimated at $24 million.
