A Thank You and an Update from WKRK

gratitudeI want to take a minute to say Thank You. I have learned a lot over the years. One of the most important things is to be grateful for the things that really matter and to brush off the things that we have no control over.

I no longer get annoyed answering the same question over and over all day, “are you off the air?” I have a much better appreciation of those phone calls. The increased volume of calls tells me that people are listening and that our audience is growing. Folks are telling us they miss us. It’s a good feeling to be missed. I am sincerely grateful for all the kind words from everyone today.

Update: We’ll have more information tomorrow. I collected repair quotes today from the transmitter manufacturer. The repair bill will likely exceed the cost of a brand new transmitter as we have already identified over 30 damaged parts from the lightning hit. There will likely be more as we get deeper into repairing. So how long is 1320 AM going to be off the air? That is yet to be determined. We’re working as fast as we can to get it back up, but it’s not going to be as soon as I want. As a reminder, we are still broadcasting on Cable TV Channel 25,, and on TuneInRadio on your mobile devices. Please help us spread the word if you can.

Thanks again to everyone out there who has expressed concern. We’ll be back to 100% as soon as possible, but it will likely not be this week. We apologize for the inconvenience.
