The following news release has been issued by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
On March 5th, 2014, Ira Shane Allen, age 30, of Cope Road in Andrews, NC was arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering and Larceny after Breaking and Entering.
The arrest was the result of an investigation into the break-in of a residence on Cody Drive in Marble which was reported on March 2, 2014. The resident there reported going to church on Sunday morning and upon returning, discovered the home broken into and that a computer, gaming equipment, and some lawn power tools had been taken.
In the investigation, a surveillance system used by the home owner resulted in obtaining video of the suspect. When viewed by Investigator Harold Mashburn, the suspect, Allen, was immediately recognized by Mashburn.
Allen was arrested on March 5, 2014 and confined to the Cherokee County Detention Facility under a $2000.00 bond until he made bonded out on March 6, 2014.
The case is under investigation by Investigator Harold Mashburn.
