The following news release has been issued by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
James Donald Taylor II, aka “Tank” of Andrews was arrested on December 27, 2013 on several charges and is currently confined to the Cherokee County Detention Center.
Taylor was wanted on the charge of Cruelty to Animal in connection with an incident in which he stabbed a dog to death in May of 2013 in the Andrews area. Taylor was stopped by Investigator Keith Watkins on December 27th, 2013, in the Maltby Road area and when arrested was found to be in possession of Methamphetamine, Drug paraphernalia and was also wanted on several failure to appear charges.
Taylor was charged with Cruelty to Animals, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Maintaining a Vehicle for keeping a controlled substance, two counts of failure to appear for driving while license revoked.
Total bond in Cherokee County is $11,000.00.
Investigators are also working with Georgia authorities in determining the status of Taylor’s probation status in Georgia, which could lead to more charges against Taylor.
