The following news release has been issued by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
An arrest has been made in connection with the breaking and entering of a car wash in Andrews and one in Murphy which occurred the same night in October, 2013. Giles Ennis had reported the break-ins of his two car washes on October 26, 2013. Investigator Todd White initiated the investigations which led him to Graham County and Loudon County TN where similar incidents had occurred.
As a result, White was able to obtain warrants for a suspect and make an arrest. Arrested was Thomas David Roberts Jr., age 38, of Mountain Creek Rd, Robbinsville, NC. Roberts was charged with two counts each of Breaking and Entering, Larceny after Breaking and Entering, and Injury to Real Property. Roberts was released on a $15,000.00 secured bond.
The investigation is continuing into the possibility of more defendants being identified and arrested.
