The following news release has been issued by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
On December 5, 2013, Micah Aaron Reeves, age 35, of 961 Hanging Dog Road, Murphy, NC was arrested and charged with Felony Larceny.
The arrest was made after an investigation into the theft of a 1991 Honda Civic which was stolen from a parking lot on Joe Brown Highway.
The victim reported on November 21, 2013, the theft of the car after he had shown the car to Reeves, who was a potential buyer. Later Reeves was seen removing the car from the parking lot.
The car has not been recovered and has been entered into the National Crime Information Computer as stolen. The car is a described as an emerald green 1991 Honda Civic, 4 door.
If anyone knows the whereabouts of the car or knows who recently purchased a similar car, they are asked to contact Investigator Tiffany Holland at 828-837-2589 or their local law enforcement agency.
Reeves was released on December 5, 2013 on a $5,000.00 unsecured bond pending his first court appearance scheduled for December 17th, 2013.
