The votes are in: Class III Gaming Facility & Hotel planned for Murphy, NC adding approximately 800 new jobs

On Thursday morning, April 11, 2013, the Tribal Council of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians voted to move forward with building a casino in Murphy, North Carolina to be located on the Palmer tract behind Snap-On Tools based on recommendations by the Tribal Casino Gaming Enterprise (TCGE).  

The casino is expected to bring around 800 jobs to Cherokee County.
