Cherokee County man sentenced for sexual acts

Murphy, NC— Cherokee County Sheriff Keith Lovin announced that on June 11th 2014 during the Superior Court Session, 48 year old Jeffrey Scott Beaver of Murphy plead guilty to two counts of indecent liberties.

During the investigation information revealed that Beaver had engaged in sexual acts with a female family member for a number of years, in particular some of the attacks reportedly happened in 1997 and 1998.

Judge Jeffrey Hunt sentenced Beaver to two 16 – 20 month sentences which are to run consecutively, the second will commence at the expiration of the first.

Upon Beaver’s release from the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections, he will have to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life as well as enroll in satellite based monitoring for the remainder of his life.
