Fourth of July Hometown Celebration! July 4th Parade

flag-fireworks1The U.S. Marine Corps and Town of Murphy are organizing the Fourth of July Hometown Celebration, beginning at 8 am on Thursday, July 4th and ending with a fireworks display at dark.  

Enjoy food and craft vendors, games and prizes, fishing and softball tournament, entertainment, a peanut drop and more!

Call Linda Hurd, parade organizer for a parade entry form at (828) 361-3707 or via email at lindajhurd@yahoo.com.  There is no entry fee.

Float Parade will begin at 10 am at the L & N Depot and will end at Konehete Park.

Kids Wheels and Walking Parade will begin at 10 am at Murphy Elementary School.  There will also be a dog parade!  Kids are encouraged to decorate bikes, wagons, scooters and strollers with patriotic red, white, and blue.   Win a prize for most patriotic entry!
