Major drug operation exposed

Drug BustThe following news release has been issued by the Cherokee Indian Police Department.  All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Due to a recent, long term drug investigation in and around Cherokee, NC, a major drug operation has been brought down.

Drug Agents from the Cherokee Indian Police Department, Swain Co. Sheriff Department and BIA, traveled to Florida to work with Collier Co., FLA law enforcement officials to assist in the arrests and seizures detailed in this press release.

Chief Ben Reed stated, “This is extensive drug work at it’s finest. As we said before, our department is committed in the interdiction of drugs coming into our communities. It’s rewarding to see a lot of hard work pay off and to be able to show the community positive results. All of our families have been affected by the tragedies of drug use and sales, and all of the crime that goes along with it. People need to pay up for the crimes they commit. Pray for our community. “
