2011 25 ‘ Passport Trailer, with a Georgia Trailer Tag of TLOA 566

The following news release has been issued by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.  All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. 

On December 31, 2013, James Lenwood Odum, age 56, of 1013 Niles Ferry Road, Madisonville, TN was charged with the December 16th theft of a 25’ Passport Travel Trailer from a storage yard on Hwy 296 in the Hiwassee Dam community.

Odum, who is currently in the Monroe County TN Jail was arrested by the Madisonville TN Police Department while conducting a methamphetamine investigation. During that investigation, evidence was discovered that lead officers to believe that he was in possession of the trailer; the trailer was located by the Police Department and recovered. The trailer is being released back to its owner.

A detainer has been placed on Odum pending extradition from Tennessee.

Investigating officer is Investigator Tiffany Holland.
