The following news release has been issued by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
On December 5, 2013, at about 1:00 PM, Sheena Smith Dockery, age 28, of #28 Griggs Road, Marble, NC was arrested and charged with misdemeanor charges and as being a Fugitive from the State of Georgia. Dockery was wanted by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office after an incident on November 17th, 2013, in which she fled from a car being operated by her; she was being stopped for Reckless Driving by Deputy Danny Millsaps. Before Millsaps could get positioned to stop Dockery, she stopped her car and fled, this having happened in the Palmer Lane area of Marble. Millsaps charged Dockery with Reckless Driving and Resisting Public Officer by Fleeing.
During the course of looking for Dockery, it was learned that she was also wanted by the Department of Corrections in Union County GA for Felony Probation Violation.
On December 5, 2013, Investigator Keith Watkins received a tip from a concerned citizen that Dockery was seen in a Murphy retail store shopping and that she was wearing a disguise. Watkins and Investigator Eddie Mathis responded to the store and found Dockery wearing a blond wig and sunglasses and arrested Dockery.
Dockery was placed in the Cherokee County Detention Center under a $10,000.00 bond on the Cherokee County charges and $10,000.00 bond on the Georgia charges. Dockery will face extradition to Georgia once the Cherokee County charges are satisfied.
