Marble resident charged with attempted breaking & entering, felony larceny, obtaining property under false pretense

The following news release has been issued by Cherokee County Sheriffs Office.  All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

On March 12, 2014, Christopher Dewayne Nelson, age 21, of 165 Mundy Road, Marble, NC was arrested and charged with Attempted Breaking and Entering, Felony Larceny, and Obtaining Property under False Pretense.

Nelson was charged after an investigation into the attempted break in and larceny which occurred at a Marble business on February 10, 2014, in which four electric motors valued at $5990.00 were taken and later sold as scrap metal at a local scrap yard.

Nelson was arrested and confined to the Cherokee County Detention Facility where he later posted a $2500.00 (secured) bond pending a court appearance on March 25,2014.

Investigator Harold Mashburn is in charge of the investigation.
