Meth Lab identified on Dillard Street in Murphy

The following press release has been issued by Town of Murphy Police Department.  All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Time of Incident: 09:23 am
Agencies Involved: Murphy Police Department, North Carolina Division of Adult Probation & Parole, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, Cherokee County District Attorney’s Office, Cherokee County Magistrate’s Office

Incident Narrative:
At or around 09:23 am on July 11th, 2014, Patrol Officer Samuel R. Allen, Patrol Officer Sky M. Beaver, Asst. Chief Dustin D. Smith and Chief Justin J. Jacobs assisted Probation Officer Earl Wiggins and Probation Officer Michelle Miles with a warrantless search of 47 Dillard St., Murphy, NC 28906.

During this investigation various schedule drugs and drug paraphernalia were found within the residence. Also found within the residence were numerous items and chemicals used in the manufacturing of Methamphetamine.

After processing evidence, Special Agents with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation were contacted. Shortly after their arrival at the residence, it was determined to be a Meth Lab. These Special Agents then collected these items for proper collection and disposal. Ms. Kimberly Tromblay Craig, who owns the residence, and Mr. Jamie Aaron Dockery, who was staying at the residence, were both taken into custody that morning and evening. This residence in currently under foreclosure notice.

Conspiracy To Manufacture Methamphetamine
M/S/D/P CS W/N 1000 ft. Of School
Maintain Place Controlled Substance
Manufacture Methamphetamine
Possess/Distribute Precursor Chemical
Possess Drug Paraphernalia
Possess Methamphetamine
Simple Possession Schedule IV Controlled Substance

Ms. Craig’s bond is currently set at $37,000.00 secure. She has an initial court date of July 22nd, 2014, at 09:00 am.

Conspiracy To Manufacture Methamphetamine
M/S/D/P CS W/N 1000 ft. Of School
Maintain Place Controlled Substance
Manufacture Methamphetamine

Possess Methamphetamine
Simple Possession Schedule IV Controlled Substance

Mr. Dockery’s bond is currently set at $20,000.00 secure. He has an initial court date of July 22nd, 2014 at 09:00 am.

“The Murphy Police Department would like to thank all assisting agencies for their time and assistance with this investigation. More importantly, we would also like to thank the concerned citizens that live in the neighborhood of 47 Dillard St., for their due diligence in reporting the suspicious persons, vehicles and incidents that we have investigated over the past two years. The Murphy Police Department and other law enforcement agencies have made multiple arrests at this residence.”
