Missing Children from Cherokee Returned Unharmed


7:50 P.M. TUESDAY: Two missing children from Cherokee have been returned unharmed. They were brought to the Cherokee Indian Police Department by a family member. The children have been reunited with their mom. The incident is under investigation.

Here is the original story:

(WLOS-TV) –Authorities in Cherokee are looking for 2 children, believed to have been taken by 20 year old Kyle Jacob Smith.

Smith, is believed to have taken the children-15 month old Liam Smith, and four month old Kiera Smith.  Authorities believed that Smith is driving a 2010 gold Dodge Journey with temporary NC plates.

Smith is described as a 5-foot-7, 150-pound American Indian male.  The children are also American Indian and were last seen wearing pajamas. Authorities believe the children are in grave or immediate danger.
