The following news release has been issued by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Murphy, NC— Cherokee County Sheriff Keith Lovin announced that 39 year old Chester Bryan Mann, and 50 year old Collette Marie Mann, who gave a Tabby Lane, Murphy, NC address was arrested for charges involving the growing of marijuana.
On July 17, 2014, a Uniformed Services Deputy was attempting to serve civil process at a residence occupied by Chester and Collette Mann on Tabby Lane in Murphy when he observed marijuana plants being grown at the residence. An investigator with the Criminal Investigative Division was called to the residence who collected the marijuana plants as well as items used to grown and ingest marijuana.
Both Chester and Collette Mann were arrested for Manufacture of Schedule VI controlled substance, Maintaining a Dwelling House, Felony Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Paraphernalia. Both were taken before the Cherokee County Magistrate who set a $5,000.00 Unsecure bond and set a August 05th, 2014 Cherokee County District Court date.
