The following press release has been issued by the Town of Murphy Police Department. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Location: Wal-Mart Supercenter, 2330 Hwy. 19/74., Murphy, NC 28906
Defendant #1: Mr. Isaac Wade Traub
Date of Incident: July 22nd, 2014
Time of Incident: 8:17 pm
Agencies Involved: Murphy Police Department, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Cherokee County 911 Dispatch, Cherokee County Magistrate’s Office
At or around 8:17 pm, on July 22nd, 2014, Patrol Officer Morgan E. Morse was dispatched to the Wal-Mart Supercenter here in Murphy, due to a man that had exposed himself to a young female. This offense was reported having occurred in the toy department.
Upon Patrol Officer Morse’s arrival, the suspect had already left the scene. The Wal-Mart Supercenter management was able to provide photographs of the male suspect and he was identified shortly thereafter as a Mr. Isaac Wade Traub from Murphy.
Mr. Traub was taken into custody early this morning by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office at his residence without incident. The female victim did not require any medical assistance due to the assault.
Mr. Traub’s Charges are as follows:
Indecent Liberties With A Minor
Indecent Exposure Def>=18 Victim<16
Assault On A Child Under 12
Mr. Traub’s bond is currently set at $20,000.00 secure. He has an initial court date of September 5th, 2014, at 09:00 am.
Patrol Officer Morse was assisted at the Wal-Mart Supercenter by the following law enforcement officers:

Due to the pending nature and charges of this investigation, this is all of the information that can be released at this time. The victim’s age, name and address is being withheld for their protection.
