The following news release has been issued by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
While on patrol on January 2, 2014, Deputy Danny Millsaps investigated a suspicious vehicle in the Wehutty Road area with two occupants.
During a field interview with the two occupants, Deputy Millsaps discovered a bag containing drug paraphernalia and a syringe containing a substance believed to be methamphetamine. The occupants were then arrested and charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Methamphetamine.
Darian Drevon Smith, age 23 and Heather Anne Dockery, age 33, both of Murphy, were booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center at about 12:30 PM.
A $5,000.00 unsecured bond was set by the sitting Magistrate, and the two were released from the Detention Center at about 1:25 PM.
