Murphy Woman Arrested For Harboring Fugitive

The following press release has been issued by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.  All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Murphy, NC — Kim Ivie Craig, a 50 year old Murphy North Carolina woman was arrested by Deputies and Investigators on April 23, 2014 for harboring a fugitive.

After consent to search was granted by Kim Ivie Craig of Dillard Street in Murphy, Jamie Aaron Dockery was located in an attic space inside the residence.  Warrants for the arrest of Dockery had previously issued.  Craig had been told by numerous officers that Dockery was wanted and that she would be arrested if she were hiding him.

Ivie was given a $1,000.00 secure bond by the magistrate who set a May 6, 2014 District Court date.  Ivie was released on bond the same night.

Dockery was arrested on the following charges: 2 counts of resisting a public officer, breaking and entering a motor vehicle, larceny after breaking and entering a motor vehicle, possession of burglary tools and was taken before the magistrate who set a $10,000.00 secure bond and gave Dockery a May 6, 2014 court date.

Additionally Dockery is also being detained at the Cherokee County Detention Center on a $3,498.00 civil purge order for unpaid child support.
