Narcotics-related crack down continues; another duo arrested

The following news release has been issued by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.  All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

On February 19,2014, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Investigators served a search warrant on Rockridge Road in Murphy NC which resulted in the arrests of two persons on narcotics related charges.  Arrested and charged was Stephen Troy Vandermolen, age 43, and Christine Marie D’Agostina, age 34, both residents of the Rockridge Road home.

Acting on information, investigators obtained a search warrant for the residence and in the service of that warrant found various amounts of methamphetamine, controlled prescription medication, and paraphernalia.  D’Agogstina was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of  Schedule II (2 cts. MS Cotin and Dextroamphetamine) Controlled Substance  and Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substance (Klonopin).  Vandermolen was charged with Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance (Dilaudid) and Possession of Paraphernalia.

Both persons were taken to the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center where Magistrate Joshua Postell released the two on a $2500.00 unsecured bond.

Investigator Tory Shivers is in charge of the investigation, assisted by Investigator Keith Watkins.
