The N.C. Department of Transportation has awarded a $2.3 million contract to Colditz Trucking Inc. of Blairsville, Georgia to resurface 3.3 miles of the Andrews Bypass (U.S. 19/74/129) from Rocky Creek Road to U.S. 19 Business near Andrews in Cherokee County.
Work can start April 29 and is scheduled for completion by Oct. 18.
This is one of 27 contracts totaling $106.9 million awarded by NCDOT in March for highway and bridge projects across North Carolina. NCDOT awarded the contracts to the lowest bidders, as required by state law. The bids received on the projects awarded came in about 5.3 percent, or $5.9 million, below NCDOT estimates.
