Polk County, TN man pleads guilty to TVA thefts

(WRCB-TV) — POLK COUNTY, TN — A Benton man pleaded guilty to stealing more than $10,000 in property from TVA.

Investigators say TVA police recovered hundreds of items stolen from work sites around the Ocoee dams in Polk County.

Michael Farner, a former TVA employee, was arrested and charged with the crime.

Investigators say items stolen included fencing, piping, wooden beams and tools.

Farner pleaded guilty to the crime and was sentenced to three years probation and $15,000 in restitution.
