Murphy Fire DepartmentThe following press release has been issued by Chief Justin Jacobs of the Town of Murphy Police Department

The Town of Murphy Police Department would like to the thank the Murphy Volunteer Fire Department, their families and the wonderful volunteers for taking the time out of their busy schedules to help raise over $4,600.00, during their “Poor Man’s Supper” event held last week. We are honored and humbled to have these people serving our community. Just as importantly though, we would also like to thank the citizens and business owners of the Town of Murphy and Cherokee County for purchasing these dinners.

This money will help provide Christmas for the children of Cherokee County that were chosen to participate in this year’s Cherokee County “Shop With A Cop” Program. This year’s event will take place this Saturday morning, December 21st, at our local Wal-Mart Supercenter. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions, comments or concerns. Thank You, Chief Justin J. Jacobs.
