From Boston Police Department:  Powerful & Symbolic Moment of Transition:

Today, Monday, April 22, 2013, federal officers returned custody of Boylston Street to Mayor Tom Menino and the citizens of Boston.

During the ceremony, a grateful Mayor humbly accepted the American flag that had flown at half-staff in the area of the finish line since last Monday’s attack.

While presenting the flag to the Mayor, Boston Police Lt. Detective Darrin Greeley of the Crime Scene Response Unit offered the following,

“Mayor, on behalf of all those who tediously worked this crime scene, we thank you for your support and we present you with this flag in honor of all those who lost their lives here. We promise to keep them in our hearts and minds as we continue to help and heal our hometown.”
