The following news release has been issued by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Nathan Ivan Reeves, age 29, was arrested on 12/31/2013 around 10:45 PM after surrendering to Cherokee County Sheriff’s Investigators. Reeves had been wanted on Felony Larceny charges in connection with the theft of a 2006 Saab automobile on 12/23/13. Shortly after the report of the theft, investigators linked Reeves to the theft; the automobile had been located abandoned in a vacant home’s garage on Hwy 64 in Murphy.
Reeves had previously been arrested on December 3rd in connection with the break-ins of three homes on Morgan Hill Road and had been released on a $5,000.00 bond on December 17, 2013.
When arrested on 12/31/13, Magistrate Joe Bateman set a $10,000.00 bond, and Reeves posted bond through a professional bonding company and was released after spending about one hour in jail.
