Suspects in theft arrested

Cherokee County NCThe following press release has been issued by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.  All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MARBLE, NC – Sheriff Keith Lovin of the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office announced today that on November 16, 2013, a resident of Palmer Lane of the Marble NC community reported a 2006 Kawasaki ATV Mule, valued at $2000.00, as having been stolen from his carport during the night of November 15th.

During the investigation, a witness reported having seen the ATV cross Highway 74 in the early morning hours onto Highway 141.

On November 18th, Patrol Deputy Danny Millsaps, Investigators Todd White and Keith Watkins located the ATV at a home on Deerway Drive in the Marble community. The investigation resulted in the arrests of Victor Thomas Jacob Runge, age 19, of 334 Palmer lane, Marble, NC and Dustin Lee Adams, age 22, of 605 Arrowwood Road, Marble, NC.

Both men were charged with Felony Larceny, Felony Conspiracy, and Attempted False Pretense.

Both men are confined to the Cherokee County Detention Center with Adams’ bond set at $9,000.00 and Runge’s bond set at $15,000.00.
