TCCC Hosts 2013 College Day

Tri-County Community College (TCCC) welcomed area high school seniors to meet with 44 college representatives from across North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee at its 2013 College Day held Tuesday, Sept. 10.

This annual event is organized by the Carolinas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (CACRAO) in an effort to allow high school students to connect with proximate colleges and universities.

“I am so pleased that we were able to showcase so many different institutions for College Day,” said Dr. Donna Tipton-Rogers, TCCC president. “We are proud to give the students in our community a chance to meet with college representatives and to explore their options for higher education after they complete their associates degree here at Tri-County Community College.”

Over 300 high school seniors from Andrews, Hayesville, Hiwassee Dam, Robbinsville, Murphy, and Nantahala visited TCCC and discovered valuable information about future educational choices. College Day gave students an opportunity to ask the recruiters specific questions about their respective institutions while collecting informational materials and signing up for mailing lists.
