Update from Friday afternoon, May 3:

Lieutenant Brian Wilson, a deputy sheriff with the Towns County Sheriff’s Office, passed away this afternoon, Friday, May 3, 2013.

On Sunday, April 28, 2013 at approximately 9:30AM, Deputy Wilson was involved in a one car motor vehicle accident while traveling along Highway 288 in Hiawassee.

Brian was transported to the Chatuge Regional Emergency Room and from there to North Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA, where he remained in critical care until his passing.

Please continue to keep Brian’s family in your prayers.

We will provide those as soon as we can.  For now Brian is still in critical condition. The huge outpouring of prayers and support for him and his family is greatly appreciated. Please continue to pray for them at this time.”

“Lieutenant Brian Wilson of the Towns County Sheriffs Office is currently in critical condition after a single vehicle, motor vehicle accident.   We would ask for your continued prayers for Brian and his family.”
