Update on WKRK’s broadcast signal

Update on WKRK:  Thanks again for all our friends who have called or messaged asking about our broadcast signal.

The broadcast at 1320AM is still off the air due to lightning damage.  We are still broadcasting all our regular programming on Cable TV Channel 25 (Cherokee County), streaming online at www.country.am, and on the TuneInRadio app on your smartphone or tablet, so thousands of you are still able to get our programming and we appreciate you tuning us in.

We will be working again this evening to restore an older, backup transmitter in hopes, to get back on the air at a reduced power.  The backup transmitter is not capable of transmitting our full 5,000 watts.  If we get it working, then we should be able to serve about 75% of our listeners at reduced power.

A brand new transmitter has been ordered.  The factory says it will take about 3 to 4 weeks to be built and shipped.

I wish I had better news on the timing.  If I had control of that, the new one would have been here 4 days ago.

That’s the latest update.

Thanks again for your continued support.
