WKRK welcomes Joe Thorley as new Sunday announcer

Joe Thorley

Joe Thorley

WKRK hopes that you will join us in welcoming Joe Thorley to our Sunday lineup.

Beginning next Sunday, you will be greeted on the air by Joe Thorley. Many of you know already know Joe from the play-by-play on WKRK’s Bulldog Broadcast on Friday nights during football season. Joe’s family also operated the Badcock Home Furnishings store in Murphy up until a few years ago.

Dad, Bill and I have been filling in on Sundays after Donna Lynn moved to Alabama several months ago. We miss Donna Lynn and I sincerely appreciate all the help from dad and Bill filling in on the air, especially when I was too sick to work.

Joe is known for his laughter and good humor. He recently went back to college to pursue a degree in teaching and is currently student-teaching in Robbinsville. Joe and his family live in Murphy.

I’ll be here next week with Joe for training. When you hear Joe on the air next week, please give him a call and welcome him as the new Sunday announcer and keep him busy with requests.

Feel free to share any post from the WKRK website that you feel is beneficial to your community. We encourage input from local law enforcement, government officials, emergency management officials, schools and other public service organizations.
