WKRK is working as quickly as possible to restore radio service on 1320AM. We received a direct lightning hit. The cost to repair the lightning damage exceeds the cost of buying a new transmitter. So a brand new transmitter has been ordered. It has to be custom built. The factory expects to be able to ship the new transmitter by the end of the month.
In the meantime, we are working to get a backup transmitter on the air with reduced power, which will serve the majority of our listeners until the full power transmitter arrives. We are still broadcasting on Cable TV Channel 25, streaming online at www.country.am … and you can download the TuneInRadio app to your smartphone or tablet and listen to us there.
We apologize for the inconvenience. Please know we are committed to returning to the airwaves as quickly as possible. It’s just taking more time than we had hoped. Thanks to all of you who are telling us that you miss us. We sincerely appreciate that.
