![]() Officials with Tri-County Community College’s human resource development department have announced plans to host pre-hire events at the college’s main campus location this spring to fill a variety of open positions with the area census office ahead of the 2020 census. “The 2020 census team has a wide variety of employment opportunities in the college’s service area, and our department is prepared to help all those interested in applying,” said Dotie Stafford-Ortega, director of human resource development at Tri-County Community College. The college will hold pre-hire events on March 28, April 18 and April 25 in the College and Career Readiness lab located inside the Crisp Building on the main campus from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Open positions include office manager, field manager, recruiting manager and assistant, information technology manager, office supervisor, listers and more. Officials with the census team said many of these positions offer flexible hours and pay in the $13.50 to $24 per hour range, as well as paid training and mileage reimbursement. You must be 18 years or older to apply. According to the United States Census Bureau, the census takes place each decade, with the goal of counting the U.S. population, which determines the number of seats each state has in the U.S. House of Representatives, and is also used to distribute billions in federal funds to local communities.
