The following press release has been issued by Tellico Plains Police Department. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
On Sunday, June 28 at approximately 1:46 am, officers Jason Crowder and Bridger Frerichs of the Tellico Plains Police Department were dispatched to a residence on Scott Street in Tellico Plains, TN. The caller was concerned about a family member in the residence who would not open the door to her room. After the officers identified themselves, Melissa Bradley eventually opened the door and appeared semi-conscious. Her eyes were bloodshot and see appeared to be in a state of confusion. A horizontal gaze nystagmus test was administered. The results were not favorable. Officers noticed a baggie containing a white powdery substance on the desk. Ms. Bradley admitted that the substance was methamphetamine. Captain Russ Parks and Deputy Bill Illingworth then arrived on scene to assist. After receiving consent from Ms. Bradley to search her premises, officers found multiple drugs including marijuana, Legend drugs without a prescription, Schedule III Diazepam, Schedule III Tylenol/Hydrocodone and Schedule IV Valium. Multiple amounts of drug paraphernalia such as syringes, baggies, working scales, grinders, spoons, snorting straws with residue, pipes and a razor blade were also found. Ms. Bradley was then arrested for possession of Schedule II, III, IV, VI, Legend and drug paraphernalia.
