During the past week, deputies with the Towns County Sheriff’s Office, along with agents from the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office, have arrested suspects within Towns County on drug related charges. The following suspects have been arrested and charged with the following offenses: Eric Scott Smith, age 42 of Hayesville, North Carolina 1 Count of VGCSA Possession of a Controlled Substance 1 Count of Possession of Drug Related Objects Roger Elbert Norton, age 31 of Hiawassee, Georgia 1 Count of VGCSA Possession of Methamphetamine Chelsea Nicole Smith, age 22 of Hiawassee, Georgia 1 Count of VGCSA Possession of Methamphetamine 1 Count of VGCSA Possession of a Controlled Substance Justice Samantha Sparks, age 20 of Hiawassee, Georgia 1 Count of VGCSA Possession of a Controlled Substance Todd Edward Oakes, age 44 of Young Harris, Georgia 1 Count of VGCSA Possession of Methamphetamine Shaun Ewing, age 34 of Blairsville, Georgia 1 Count of VGCSA Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent To Distribute 1 Count of VGCSA Possession of Methamphetamine 2 Counts of Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer Sheriff Clinton advises that additional charges are likely.
